Meet The Maker

Naturally creative and curious, Loretta’s love of miniature is what initially drew her into the world of jewellery. Her grandfather made dolls houses and she was always fascinated with the level of detail in his miniature work.

A qualified goldsmith with over fifteen years of experience working in the jewellery industry, Loretta decided to launch her own jewellery brand in December 2024.

Using traditional goldsmithing techniques, Loretta designs and hand makes each piece in her workshop. The loss of traditional hand skills is a real concern with many businesses replacing these with technology.

“I want to preserve the hand skills that have been used in Ireland for thousands of years that form a part of our rich Irish heritage. I love the idea that I can pass down these skills to my own children for future generations. The physical making also connects me to the jewellery in a way that new technology can never do.”

Inspired by the metal’s malleability, she continually pushes the boundaries of flat metal sheet through hammering and other silversmithing techniques to create new and exciting three-dimensional shapes. From these shapes, a story is born.

Sharing family stories has been a key inspiration in Loretta’s work. The sentiment behind each design is just as important as the design itself. Her creations are intended to form meaningful connections, making each piece of jewellery a part of your personal story.

Loretta O’Sullivan is originally from a rural village in Co. Armagh, but now lives in Ratoath Co. Meath with her husband and three children.
